We are very proud to announce our sponsorship of the Essex Festival of Food and Drink 2015 which this year is held on the 18th and 19th of July. This is the festival’s 5th year and they really have an action packed line up. There are demonstrations, talks and tutored tastings from local chefs and over 150 producers from all over East Anglia. We will be featuring some of the local exhibitors in more detail over the coming months, just to make sure
The Festival takes place at Cressing Temple Barns in the heart of Essex between Braintree and Witham. This venue is truly historic and is dominated by two magnificent medieval barns, the Barley Barn & the Wheat Barn. Linked with the Knights Templar, as the largest of their Essex landholdings, Cressing Temple is a moated farmstead and the barns are the oldest timber-framed barns in the world.
The Essex Festival of Food and Drink 2015 really makes the most of the venue with the addition of several marquees as well as the barns housing exhibitors and demonstrations.
The biggest coo this year though is the inspired bookings of John Torode and James Martin as headliners in the Main Stage Cookery Theatre on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Both chefs have a huge TV profile, with John as the mainstay of Master Chef and James is the start of most peoples weekends in Saturday Kitchen.
On Saturday the 18th July John Torode will be demonstrating at 11am and 3pm and with his passion for local produce and championing rare breeds within the meat industry these sessions are sure to be entertaining and informative.
James Martin will be at the Main Stage Cookery Theatre on Sunday the 19th July with demonstrations at 11am, 1pm & 3pm. A natural on stage James loves to share his passion for food and his live shows always attract a sell-out crowd.
Entry for the show is £9 per person on the gate but there are concessions deals if you book online with the Main Stage Cookery Theatre sessions from an extra £5 per person – early booking, especially for John and James is highly recommended.
However we have some general entry and some Main Stage Cookery Theatre tickets available for both days and we will be hosting a competition in the month prior to the festival to win sets of these tickets. The competition will be through our Facebook page so make sure you like and share our page so that you don’t miss a chance of winning.
